Major Biden’s return to the White House is off to a ruff start. The First Dog is back in the dog house after reportedly nipping a National Parks Service employee earlier this week.
After a biting incident earlier this month, the President’s dogs, Champ and Major, were sent back to their home in Delaware for a temporary “time-out” and training.
Now back at their new home on Pennsylvania Avenue, the youngest member of the First Family, 3-year old German Shepherd Major, showed that he’s still not quite comfortable with his new surroundings. According to a statement from the First Lady’s press secretary Michael LaRosa, Major Biden “nipped someone while on a walk.”
The individual was then seen by the White House Medical Unit out of an abundance of caution and later returned to work “without injury.”
Major Biden, who made headlines in January when he became the first shelter dog to move into the White House, had reportedly previously displayed reactive behaviors including barking, growling, and lunging at White House staff.
At this time, Champ and Major remain at the White House, hopefully with concessions in place to make Major feel more at home and safe in his new digs.
