Now more than ever, dogs around the country are in need of loving homes. But, how can you meet your new best friend if you can’t leave the house?
As potential pet parents stay safer at home during the ongoing pandemic, Zoom meetings have become the new normal for connecting coworkers, families and friends. Now, the popular video conference calling program is connecting people with adoptable pets!
Dog food brand Pedigree started a program called ‘Dogs on Zoom’ to connect potential pet parents to adoptable dogs—and they’re covering the adoption fees, too!
Initial “Dogs on Zoom” events kicked off in the PEDIGREE brand’s hometown of Nashville on May 11-13 with the Nashville Humane Association. Additional “Dogs on Zoom” virtual adoption events will take place across the country throughout May and June with the following shelters. Most events will happen at 5:00 PM local time, but be sure to check out MeetYourNewDog.com for the latest event information.
- SPCA Florida in Lakeland, Fla. on May 14, 15 and 18
- The Little Guild in Cornwall, Conn. on May 19-21
- Louisiana SPCA in New Orleans, La. on May 22, 25 and 26
- Fairfield Area Humane Society in Lancaster, Ohio on May 27-29
- Dallas Pets Alive in Dallas, Texas on June 1-3
- Additional shelters to be added for June
Once you join a Zoom meeting, you can choose the dog you’d like to know more about, then meet them live online. You’ll get to meet adoptable dogs, ask questions, and adopt—all from the comfort and safety of home.
Following a successful event this week, Pedigree plans to partner with additional shelters around the country to help even more pets and people connect while staying safely at home.
