Carolina Prime Pet Inc. voluntarily recalls five varieties of its jerky treats, distributed to Hollywood Feed, due to potential Salmonella contamination.
According to the FDA Enforcement Report, the recall was initiated on September 27, 2023 but no press release was issued regarding the recalled products.
The recall was initiated by the customer, Hollywood Feed, after they tested the shipment of jerky treats they received and one sample tested positive for Salmonella.
After the sample tested positive for Salmonella, Hollywood Feed reported the test results to FDA.
The recalled products were never sold to any Hollywood Feed stores or any other retail establishments and were immediately returned to Carolina Prime Pet Inc.

While Carolina Prime Pet Inc. hasn’t issued any statements regarding the recall and the products reportedly never hit the shelves, we still highly recommend that you immediately dispose any affected products with the information stated above.
Furthermore, if your dog has ingested any of the affected products, please monitor them for any adverse reactions and symptoms. And immediately contact your vet if you see any signs of illnesses.
Please also note that no other products from Carolina Prime Pet Inc. other than the ones stated above are impacted by this recall.
